Ms. Denver Romero, SIPI Recruitment Coordinator VISTA Published February 17, 2022

The SIPI Board of Regents introduces Ms. Denver Romero as Recruitment Coordinator VISTA for SIPI. Denver will work with SIPI faculty and staff to develop recruitment materials, develop marketing plans, and expand internship opportunities.

Denver has experience and a passion for outreach and organizing communities to make a difference. She has a background in management, holding a position at Menard’s while attending the College of Lake County full-time. Denver earned her Associate’s degree in Business in December 2021 and has decided to serve with AmeriCorps VISTA to get more experience in nonprofit work. Denver plans to earn her Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management after her service.

Being from a family of teachers, Denver feels a strong passion for educational opportunities and the benefits they can bring. Helping develop materials and systems to increase student recruitment is a great opportunity for her to pursue her passion and make a difference at SIPI.

A recent transplant from Chicago to Albuquerque, Denver looks forward to learning more about nonprofit work and continuing the expansion of the educational opportunities at SIPI. She is also excited to learn the local cultures, try as much new food as possible and explore the Southwest.
